TRADE UNION PROTEST MARCH IN DUBLIN IN SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY SECTOR WORKERS , WEDNESDAY 3rd JUNE 2009.

One of the RSF protestors on the Dublin march in support of Community Sector workers.

Republican Sinn Féin members and supporters were part of the approximately five thousand strong crowd that marched through Dublin city centre today , Wednesday June 3 , 2009 , in support of those that are employed in the Community Sector . Because of severe financial cutbacks enacted by the wasteful politicians in Leinster House , drug taskforce projects have been reduced in scale , Community Employment (CE) training , material and budgets have been savaged , community childcare schemes have either been stopped in their tracks or cutback to such an extent that they will not survive , Jobs Initiative (JI) programmes have been financially vandalised and local authority services – struggling as they were – face certain ruin as their already inadequate budgets have been squeezed ;for instance , Dublin City Council has been told by their budget-masters in Leinster House that €30 Million in cuts to the services they offer will now have to be made , and other local authorities across the State have been ordered to make similar cuts.
Meanwhile , those giving the orders for others to cutback – the millionaire political wasters in Leinster House – continue to live like ‘Royalty’ , squandering hundreds of millions of taxpayers money on vanity projects like electronic voting machines whilst , at the same time , ‘gifting’ our natural resources to multi-nation firms in exchange for personal financial gain – the ‘Brown Envelope’ culture.

It is for those affected by the politically criminal carry-on of those robber-barons in Leinster House that Irish Republicans took to the streets today , have done so in the past and will do so again in the future. Our conscience will not allow us to do other than to support fellow victims of the political gangsters in Leinster House.
Sharon.
